Step by Step Guide to Set up your Google Adwords
Visit Keyword Planner and Sign Up/Sign in.
Once you login in, Google asks you, “What’s your main advertising goal?” Once you select your intention, click NEXT.
Now you are asked to describe your business, and here you should add i) Business Name and ii) Business Website. Click NEXT
Here, Google wants to know, “Where are your customers?” If you are a small bakery in upstate New York and only serve till a certain radius, then select the place on the map and set a radius for Google to display your ad once you have configured it.
Now it is time to do the magic work—”Set up your keyword themes.”
Earlier, we assumed that you have a bakery. Now, you have to guess all the possible keywords around a bakery or the specific bakery item you are selling.
I have used “Plum cake” in “Your keyword theme.” The moment I do so, there is a drop-down to select from the most relevant keyword.
If I select, “Plum Cake Online,” Google says (to the right-hand corner) that my potential audience size is minimal. It advises me to broaden my keyword theme.
I select all the suggestions and click NEXT.
Here, you’ll need a compelling copy which means the message of your ad that Google will display in your select location to the audience radius.
Please remember that you intended to “Get More Calls.” So your copy should convey that message.

Please use innovative text that is to the point and clearly expresses your intent. Click NEXT
Add your business number in the highlighted area and click NEXT.

If you didn’t mean to advertise but just scoop unlimited keywords, promote any content from your blog or website in the same procedure shown above and run the advertisement for a lesser period for minimum budget.

Remember it takes up to 24 hours for your ad to get approved. Once it goes live, runs for a day or two, you can log in to the account, run it if you want, pause it or delete it.

This time, you’ll have the interface-
Click on the arrow in “Discover New Keywords.”
In the [search bar], I have added “Plum cakes” to generate the below list of keywords. You can see that right above, “Average Monthly Searches (AMS),” it shows 194 keyword ideas. Crazy, right?
So, will you randomly use all these keywords in your content (ad or blog) about cakes? No. Click on AMS to find the search volume of the corresponding keyword and then click on “Competition.” The formula is, your “competition” should be the “Low” and AMS should be “High.” Keep fine-tuning your analysis to shortlist your keywords for plum cake promotion.
Hey, you know what; I must go now and enjoy the leftover plum cake from my yesterday’s dream. Lol.
Anyway, I don’t know about other content creators who’ll promise you a hack to use the keyword planner without paying for it. Still, for me, the legit way is to use Adwords for a promotion and then use its keyword planners for all suggestions you need for your following content.
